IMA Activities Report for the Month of January - 2026
On 01st January 2026 Indian Medical Association Mangaluru Branch and Association of Medical Consultants, Mangalore released Jersey for Dr. M V Shetty Chowdiah Memorial IMA & AMC Cup Tournament for the Doctors of IMA Mangaluru Branch at IMA Hall 1st floor, Attavar road, Mangalore.
On 03rd January 2026 Indian Medical Association Mangaluru Branch and Association of Medical Consultants, Mangalore organised Dr. M V Shetty Chowdiah Memorial IMA & AMC Cup Tournament (Flood Light Match) Franchise based Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament for the Doctors of IMA Mangaluru Branch at Sahyadri College ground. Sri. Javagal Srinath, ICC Refree, Former Test Cricketer was the Chief Guest. Dr. M Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Nitte, DU, Director, Thejasvini Hospital, Mangalore, Dr. T A Veerabhadraiah, President, IMA KSB, Bangalore, and Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, MLC, Dakshina Kannada, Chairman, Sahyadri college of Engineering, Adyar were the Guests of Honour. Dr. Sadanand Poojary, President IMA Mangaluru welcomed the gathering. Dr. Ananda Bangera, President AMC Mangalore spoke about Tournament. Dr. Prakash Harischandra, Secretary, IMA Mangalore done Vote of thanks. Finally Sachi’s Striker’s Team won the Tournament and Vicky’s Vikings was Runner Up for the Tournament.
On 22nd January 2026 Indian Medical Association Mangaluru Branch organised a monthly CME on “For weight management Novel GIP and GLP 1 receptor agonist” by Dr. Narasimha Pai, Cardiologist, KMC Mangalore and talk on “Redefine the Peak: setting new expectation for Type 2 diabetes management with Tirzepatide” by Dr. Akhila Bhandarkar, Endocrinologist, KSHEMA. Dr. Ganesh H K, Professor & HOD Dept of Endocrinology, AJHRC was the Chairperson for the session. Also Dr. Rajeev T P, Professor & HOD Dept of Urology, KSHEMA was the Guest of Honour for the programme. Dr. Julian Saldanha, Treasurer, IMA Mangaluru stared programme with IMA Prayer. Dr. Sadanand Poojary, President IMA Mangaluru welcomed the gathering. Dr. Prakash Harischandra, Secretary, IMA Mangalore done Vote of thanks.
On 26th January 2026, Indian Medical Association Mangaluru Branch celebrated “Republic Day Celebration” at IMA House, Attavar road Mangalore at 8.00am. Dr. Sathyamoorthy Aithala, Past President, IMA Mangaluru hosted the Flag. And Major. Dr. Kuldeep was the Chief Guest on that day. Dr. Sadanand Poojary, President IMA Mangaluru welcomed the gathering. Dr. Prakash Harischandra, Secretary, IMA Mangalore done Vote of thanks.
On 11th January 2026 our Women Doctors are visited Snehadeepa a home for unfortunate girl children. These kids have been abandoned by their parents/guardians. We presented essential groceries donated by our members on their behalf. Also distributed sweets and had interaction with them. Heart wrenching stories.
On 12th January 2026 DR ARUNA YEDIYAL Was panelist along with renowned firebrand speaker Chakravarthi soolibele and entrepreneur Prajwal achar on the occasion of National Youth day celebrated by Ramakrishna mission and Math , Mangalore.
